Nubuck leather
The outer material of the Meindl Maine GTX men’s hiking shoe is made of nubuck leather. Nubuck leather comes from the lightly sanded top layer of the animal hide. Sanding makes the leather feel softer, increases breathability and gives the leather a velvety appearance. Nubuck leather can be waxed, but it can also be left untreated. If you wax nubuck leather, it will become darker, smoother and shinier. When you spray nubuck leather with a spray containing wax, you treat this material in the best way.
GORE -TEX®
The Meindl Maine GTX men’s hiking shoe contains a GORE-TEX ® membrane. The GORE-TEX ® membrane ensures that these hiking boots are waterproof, but breathable. This keeps your feet dry while walking.
Insole:
The Meindl Maine GTX men’s hiking shoe has a removable insole from Meindl. This insole contributes to extra walking comfort and is also available separately. We also sell custom insoles that provide extra support.
Outsole:
The Meindl developed outsole gives and provides good grip and stability while walking. These soles ensure a good settlement of the foot. The profile of the sole has been developed in such a way that it gives a good grip and does not hold any mud or soil.
