The Metropolis is a women’s parka from The North Face. This parka provides warmth for the entire body due to the down filling. This jacket is water-repellent due to the finish with which it has been treated. Furthermore, this jacket has a chin protection, a collar and a contoured back. In addition, this parka has a detachable hood, two side pockets with zippers and a pocket with an invisible zipper in the side panel seam. The zipper of the jacket itself is two-way, making it easier to close. This parka also has an inside pocket at the chest and is lightweight.

Materials

Recycled polyester

Down

Technologies

RDS

Responsible Down Standard (RDS) is a quality mark for down and feathers. The down and feathers come from birds that are kept for the food industry. To be RDS certified, the birds must have been treated in an animal-friendly manner. This means that the birds may not be plucked alive and kept in small cages. In addition, force-feeding and beak trimming are prohibited.

PFC free/Eco Finish

The North Face Metropolis women’s parka is produced without the use of environmentally polluting fluorocarbons (PFCs). The use of PFCs in textile finishing ensures that clothing becomes water, dirt and grease repellent. An alternative finish has been used in this jacket without the use of PFCs. This makes the product water and dirt repellent. However, an oil-repellent effect cannot currently be achieved with a PFC-free finish.
