materials
Nubuck leather
The outer material of the Tatra II Wide Lady GTX is made of nubuck leather. Nubuck leather comes from the lightly sanded top layer of the animal skin. Sanding makes the leather feel softer, increases breathability and gives the leather a velvety appearance. Nubuck leather can be waxed, but it can also very well be left untreated. Waxing nubuck leather does make it darker, smoother and shinier. When you spray nubuck leather with a spray that contains wax, you treat this material in the best way.
GORE-TEX ®
The Tatra Lady contains a GORE-TEX ® membrane. The GORE-TEX ® membrane ensures that THESE HIKING SHOES are waterproof, yet breathable. This keeps your feet dry while walking.
wide last
The Tatra II Wide Lady GTX has a wide last. The wide last is suitable for people for whom the standard fit is too narrow in the front. The wide last has a normal width on the heel side, but is slightly wider on the forefoot side. This prevents annoying pressure points from developing in walkers with wider feet.
insole
The Tatra II Wide Lady GTX has a standard insole from Hanwag. This is a quick-drying, removable insole that contributes to extra comfort while walking. The standard Hanwag insole is also available separately in our store and on our website . We also sell custom insoles that provide extra support.
Outsole
Like many other hiking boots, the Tatra heeft a VIBRAM ® outsole. Vibram soles are known for their high quality and durability and are therefore often used in hiking boots. The Vibram AW Integral ensures a good transition of the foot. The profile of the sole has been developed in such a way that it provides good grip on different surfaces. In addition, the profile of the sole is self-cleaning. This means that the sole does not retain sludge and soil. Because Vibram soles are wear-resistant, they last longer than other soles.
If the sole of your hiking boots is worn, they need to be replaced. Worn soles are a risk when walking. Because the profile of the sole disappears, the grip decreases and you slip faster. It’s just difficult to say goodbye to walking shoes that fit perfectly and with which beautiful trips have been made. Especially if you have always maintained your shoes well, the upper material of the shoe will last longer than the sole. The walking shoes may still look fine, but because the sole is worn out, they are no longer used for walks. With a heavy heart, hikers say goodbye to their favorite shoes. The big advantage of the Tatra II Wide Lady GTX is that they can be resoled. Like the soles of the Tatras are worn out in the future, so you don’t have to throw them away. We are happy to offer the service to have your shoes resoled. Bring your shoes or send them to us. We can then see if we can provide them with a new, original outsole.
