The Nikka Shorts have a low waist at the front and a high waist at the back. This way the pants are still comfortable when you wear a backpack or are active. In contrast to the ‘normal’ Nikka Shorts , this model is slightly wider over the hips and thighs and the waist is slightly narrower. This makes the pants more comfortable for someone with a fuller figure.
The side pockets of the women’s trousers are placed in such a way that you can still reach them easily when you wear a hip belt. In short, everything has been thought of. This also applies to the material, as the Nikka Shorts are made from a combination of stretch and G-1000. This combination gives maximum freedom of movement and super durable pants. The stretch fabric on the lower back and G-1000 reinforcements on the seat prevent wear.
G-1000 material
G-1000 is a fabric developed by FjällRäven itself. It’s a classic that allows you to brave different activities and climates all year round, from the tropics to the polar regions. The fabric consists of 65% polyester and 35% cotton that are tightly woven together. This fabric was then treated with Greenland Wax . This combination makes G-1000 a popular outdoor fabric and has a number of practical properties:
- Durable: G-1000 fabric from FjällRäven is very hard-wearing and therefore long-lasting. In addition, it is lightweight.
- Water repellent: Thanks to the Greenland Wax, clothing with G-1000 can withstand short rain showers or moisture. In addition, it dries quickly.
- Windproof: FjällRäven clothing with G-1000 is almost completely windproof. If you still impregnate it with Greenland Wax, you are completely protected against wind.
- Breathability: An important property of G-1000 is high breathability. This means that your body stays nice and dry, even during strenuous activities.
- UV protection: Thanks to G-1000 you are almost completely protected against the sun’s rays, reducing the risk of sunburn.
- Mosquito-proof: The tightly woven fabrics keep mosquitoes and other flying insects away. Ideal if you are in the mountains, the forest or in a warm climate. Note: G-1000 Lite is not mosquito proof.
