G-1000 material

G-1000 is a fabric developed by FjällRäven itself. It’s a classic that allows you to brave different activities and climates all year round, from the tropics to the polar regions. The fabric consists of 65% polyester and 35% cotton that are woven closely together. This fabric was then treated with Greenland Wax . This combination makes G-1000 a popular outdoor fabric and has a number of practical properties:

Durable: G-1000 fabric from FjällRäven is very durable and therefore long-lasting. In addition, it is lightweight.
Water repellent: Thanks to the Greenland Wax, clothing with G-1000 can withstand short rain showers or moisture. In addition, it is quick-drying.
Windproof: FjällRäven clothing with G-1000 is almost completely windproof. If you impregnate it with Greenland Wax, you are completely protected against wind.
Breathability: An important property of G-1000 is high breathability. This means that your body stays nice and dry, even during strenuous activities.
UV protection: Thanks to G-1000 you are almost completely protected from the sun’s rays, reducing the risk of burns.
Mosquito-Proof: The tightly woven fabrics keep mosquitoes and other flying insects away. Ideal if you are in the mountains, the forest or in a warm climate. Note: G-1000 Lite is not mosquito proof.

The lumberjack shirt is made of a functional wool blend in a comfortable cut. It has press studs on the front, at the sleeve ends and on the pocket flaps. The two chest pockets are placed slightly lower than on other shirts for easy access.

The shirt is perfect as a casual garment and for mountain tours. Can be worn as a light shirt jacket or as an insulating mid layer under normal shell clothing.

Fjallraven’s G-1000® material is a tightly woven fabric made from 65% polyester and 35% cotton. The material is wear-resistant and ventilating. Thanks to the application of Greenland Wax, the fabric is adaptable to all climates. With proper maintenance, this fabric will last for a long time and will accompany you on all kinds of adventures. Het Övik Hemp Shirt is een lichte blouse gemaakt van een blend van hennep en lyocell met een relaxte pasvorm. Lyocell

Lyocell is an artificial fiber on a natural basis. The fiber comes from wood chips from eucalyptus, oak or beech trees. Lyocell is thin, strong and breathable. It feels soft, dries quickly and absorbs moisture well. The material is biodegradable. The production of lyocell takes place through a closed system. This means that the water and chemicals required for the production process are almost completely reused. Furthermore, no harmful substances are released during production. This ensures less environmental impact.

Organic cotton/Organic cotton

Cotton is a natural material that comes from the cotton plant. The cotton fibers are spun into a yarn that is often used in clothing because of its durability, comfort and strength. In addition, cotton has good breathability and can easily absorb moisture. Cotton can discolour due to light and the stretchability of the fabric is limited. Unfortunately, cotton production is a burden on the environment, as cotton fields are often sprayed with toxic chemicals such as insecticides and pesticides. That is why organic cotton is grown without the use of chemicals. This helps to keep the soil fertile and to protect biodiversity.

Gerecycled polyester

Polyester is een synthetisch materiaal dat gemaakt wordt uit aardolie. Het is een duurzame, gladde stof die zacht aanvoelt. Daarnaast is het licht van gewicht, hoeft het niet gestreken te worden en droogt het snel. Polyester is helaas niet biologisch afbreekbaar maar wel recyclebaar. Bij goed gebruik en onderhoud van het product gaat het wel langer mee waardoor het product op de lange termijn duurzaam is. Gerecycled polyester is hierdoor een duurzaam en milieuvriendelijk alternatief.

Polyester

Polyester is a synthetic material made from petroleum. It is a durable, smooth fabric that feels soft. In addition, it is lightweight, does not need to be ironed and dries quickly. A disadvantage of polyester is that it does not absorb moisture well and is not very warm.

TEXADRI

TEXADRI materials quickly absorb sweat, wick it away from the skin and spread it over a large surface area, effectively accelerating evaporation.

The moisture can therefore be better absorbed and transported and the fabric dries faster, so that as little moisture as possible forms on the skin.

The basis for these incredibly breathable fabrics are materials that store very little moisture through their fibers and quickly release this to the next layer or to the ambient air due to their fiber structure.
