The Ranger III GTX is a category B shoe: suitable for demanding hikes in the low mountain range or in the Alps. You can also wear it on light trekking tours on bad mountain trails and easy climbing trails. The shoe has a Vibram Natural sole with a slightly deeper profile for strong grip when trekking on all kinds of surfaces. The profile at the nose and heel ensure a good transition. Roll-over, also called roll-off, means that the sole rises slightly at the toe and heel, which helps you take the next step. This runs lighter compared to ‘flat’ soles.

The sole is also resolable: if the sole is very worn, we can have it resoled. Then you get a completely new sole that is exactly the same as the original. Then you can enjoy your shoes longer and you don’t have to break in a new shoe, for example.

The Ranger III GTX features a Gore-Tex lining that is highly breathable and waterproof. The shoe therefore keeps your feet dry and offers a good foot climate during your outdoor activities.

The mountain shoe also has a Medium Shank, a stable insole that offers sufficient support during trekking tours with a light pack.

In addition, the men’s mountaineering shoe is equipped with a C4-Tongue: a specially anatomically shaped tongue. This promotes flexibility and wearing comfort and prevents pressure points.

The Ranger III GTX laces feature the X-Lacing design that secures the tongue of the shoe. This prevents shifts and thus rubbing and pressure points. With this way of lacing, the pressure distribution is not placed on the heels but close to the tongue. This increases the walking comfort of the shoe.

Another handy lacing feature is the 2-Zone-Lacing. These are separately adjustable lacing zones at the forefoot (last) and the shaft of the shoe. This way you can adjust the mountain shoe to your own foot for a perfect fit and comfort.

Finally, the shoe features the Minimal Seams design: that means that the number of seams in the shoe is limited to prevent friction and pressure points.
