Materials

Polyamide (nylon)

Polyamide, also called nylon, is a synthetic material made from petroleum. Polyamide is a strong fabric that does not tear or wrinkle easily. It is light, elastic, easy to fold and dries quickly. A disadvantage of polyamide is that it does not absorb moisture well.

Polyester

Polyester is a synthetic material made from petroleum. It is a durable, smooth fabric that feels soft. In addition, it is lightweight, does not need to be ironed and dries quickly. A disadvantage of polyester is that it does not absorb moisture well, is not very warm and does not breathe very well.

Elastane

Elastane is a synthetic fiber that is very elastic. It is often used in combination with other fabrics such as polyester and cotton. Under tension the fabric can stretch enormously and without tension the fabric returns to its original shape. This means that elastane offers plenty of room to move without losing the fit.
